Oasis of the Heart . . . by Judi Angel

This poem was written for my older sister, Joan. She lives in the San Francisco area so her home over the years has been like an oasis of the heart to all the friends and family that travel to and through the Bay Area. She always has a delicious meal and soft squishy bed to rest a weary traveling soul. Being a registered nurse, should the traveler be ill along the way, she lends her healing hands…all done with love and prayer. The poem is about life, too, for we are all travelers on a journey of life looking for an oasis of the heart filled with love and joy. The poem, specifically the last stanza, is more about life when our life journey ends and the angel dear is my father, whose name is Angel, that met at the start and who will greet me with love and laughter in the Oasis of the Heart.
